The Work
An Integrative Approach to Individual Therapy
Individual therapy at Clarity is not a single method applied uniformly. It draws from multiple evidence-based frameworks, matched to what each person is navigating and how they process experience.
For clients dealing with trauma, we integrate EMDR and somatic approaches that work with the body's stored responses, not just the story. For anxiety and depression, we draw on Somatic Experiencing and polyvagal-informed nervous system work alongside interpersonal frameworks that build practical skills. For relationship patterns and identity work, we bring in psychodynamic and humanistic perspectives.
What stays consistent across all of it is the quality of the therapeutic relationship itself. The relationship between client and therapist is not incidental to the work. It is often central to it.
Integrative
We draw from psychodynamic, somatic, polyvagal-informed, and EMDR frameworks, matched to your presenting concerns and how you process.
Relational
The therapeutic relationship is itself a vehicle for change, built with consistency, curiosity, and genuine presence.
Evidence-Based
Every method we use has demonstrated clinical efficacy. We don't follow trends; we follow the research.
What We Address
Common Reasons People Seek Individual Therapy
Anxiety
Persistent worry, panic, social anxiety, OCD, and the hypervigilance that comes from living in a state of anticipatory threat. We work with both the cognitive and somatic dimensions of anxiety.
Depression
Persistent low mood, loss of meaning, withdrawal, and the flatness that makes ordinary life feel effortful. Individual therapy addresses root causes, not just symptoms.
Trauma
Single-incident trauma, complex developmental trauma, and the chronic relational wounding that often underlies anxiety, depression, and relationship difficulty.
Life Transitions
Career shifts, relationship changes, loss, major moves, and the identity disruptions that accompany any significant change. Transitions are often underestimated as sources of distress.
Grief and Loss
Bereavement, the end of relationships, loss of identity or role, and the kinds of grief that don't fit a tidy timeline or have clear cultural permission.
Relationship Patterns
Recurring dynamics across relationships, attachment difficulties, people-pleasing, conflict avoidance, and the patterns that seem to follow you from one connection to the next.

Common Questions
About Individual Therapy
What issues does individual therapy address?
Anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, life transitions, relationship patterns, identity concerns, self-esteem, and personal growth. Treatment is tailored to your specific history, goals, and needs.
What therapeutic approaches do you use?
We use an integrative approach drawing from psychodynamic therapy, Somatic Experiencing, polyvagal-informed body-based techniques, and EMDR for trauma. The method is matched to your presenting concerns.
How long does individual therapy typically take?
Some clients find significant relief in 8 to 12 focused sessions. Others engage in longer-term work for deeper patterns or ongoing support. We'll discuss realistic expectations at the start.
Is teletherapy available?
Yes. Individual therapy is available via secure video session for clients throughout Nevada. Teletherapy produces outcomes equivalent to in-person therapy for most presenting concerns.
