Couples Therapy in Las Vegas
Gottman Method couples therapy for communication, intimacy, and lasting connection. In person at Downtown Summerlin and via teletherapy throughout Nevada.
The Method
The Gottman Method
Couples therapy at Clarity is grounded in the Gottman Method, a research-based approach developed from over 40 years of studying what distinguishes thriving relationships from deteriorating ones.
Rather than offering generic communication tips, the Gottman Method identifies the specific patterns that erode connection (criticism, contempt, defensiveness, and stonewalling) and works systematically to replace them with skills for trust, mutual understanding, and genuine intimacy.
We work with couples navigating communication breakdown, recurring conflict, emotional distance, infidelity recovery, intimacy concerns, and major life transitions. The goal is not simply to stop fighting. It is to build the relationship both partners actually want.
Research-Based
Developed from 40+ years of relationship science by Drs. John and Julie Gottman. Not a philosophy. A methodology.
Skills-Focused
Therapy produces concrete skills for communication, conflict repair, and emotional attunement, not just insight.
For Any Couple
We work with all relationship structures, orientations, and cultural backgrounds. No couple is too "far gone" to benefit from support.
What We Address
Common Reasons Couples Come to Therapy
Communication Breakdown
Arguments that escalate, conversations that go nowhere, or patterns of avoidance that create growing distance between partners.
Emotional Distance
Feeling more like roommates than partners. Loss of connection, intimacy, or the friendship that once felt central to the relationship.
Infidelity & Betrayal
Affairs, deception, and significant trust ruptures that require careful, structured support to process and potentially repair.
Life Transitions
Becoming parents, navigating career changes, relocation, loss, or any major shift that strains the relational foundation.
Recurring Conflict
The same fights playing out again and again without resolution, a sign that something deeper needs attention than the surface topic.
Premarital Counseling
Intentional preparation before marriage or commitment, building the tools and understanding patterns before they become entrenched.

Common Questions
About Couples Therapy
What is the Gottman Method?
A research-based approach to couples therapy grounded in 40+ years of relationship science. It identifies specific patterns that erode connection and teaches concrete skills for trust, communication, and lasting intimacy.
When should couples seek therapy?
Research suggests couples wait an average of six years after problems begin before seeking help. That is far too long. Earlier is better. Couples therapy is not only for relationships in crisis; it is also for couples who want to grow and build stronger connection.
How long does couples therapy take?
Progress is usually visible within a few months of consistent weekly sessions. Overall length depends on the complexity of issues and goals. We will discuss realistic expectations at the outset.
Is couples therapy available via teletherapy?
Yes. Couples therapy is available via secure video session for Nevada clients. Both partners can join from the same location or different ones.
